ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

what's up. I posted up something before about my oil light coming on sometimes....there is oil in the car.
know I noticed that when I make right turns..like of a highway..my oil light will come on n then start to flash...I think it the oil pressure swith, or the sending unit. Can some show me a pic of where hey are. Thanks

If it comes on while making a sharp turn, or even heavy braking, it could mean that you're almost low. I know my light comes on when making the sharp right turn into my work. Then about 2 weeks later, it's time for an oil change.

sending unit is on the engine block directly above (just a few inches above) the oil filter and has a wire going to it.

my own car doesn't flash that light on a turn, maybe you are turning at a higher speed than I usually do.

or your oil level is pretty low? because if you have it even on the bottom mark on the dipstick there should be enough oil to avoid causing the oil pickup tube, which is within probably 1/2 inch of the bottom of the oil pan, to be starved of oil.

I would check to see if your car does this at full oil level otherwise it could be just a (low )oil level related problem.

But as to the location of the oil pressure sending unit: it's just over the oil filter on the engine block.

          idle is a good point.

what is your definition of "has oil in it"?

make sure it's no less than halfway between the lines and not over the top line on the dipstick.

If there is sufficient oil, and your idle is fine...then the pressure switch may be bad or your oil pump...or you have a clogged filter

Becareful with driving your car like this. My 91 civic DX had a similar problem It burned oil as well, so i was constantly putting in oil everyweek.

One day the light flashed checked oil, and it was good. Later when i was driving home the car kinda jerked forward.. i was doing like 70-75mph. The car shut off and i thought it just jumped timing or something, because i didnt know when the timing belt was changed last.

After getting the car towed home and a week later after my friend came over we figured it out. Throughout the week i replaced the distributor, plugs, and wires. and nothing. So he was try and start the car, i try and start it. The timing belt is spinning but nothings happening. The cam shaft seized and snapped.

When I worked at Toyota...we had a tundra that came in with an "adjustable cam" CEL...the techs working on it were revving the piss out of the engine cause it adjusted at higher rpms.

In the midst of this, another tech looked up the history and saw that it had an oil change the day before at our shop

it had 1 quart of oil in it...should have had 5-6...so it "has oil in it"...just not enough...so again I ask...what is the OP's definition of "has oil in it"
