ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Going to JY.. To Get Harmonic Balancer

Ok so tomarrow im going to the JY in hopes of finding a decent harmonic balancer.. my questions are what years will work for the cb ( i figure the newer the better condition.)

I also want to know if anyone has a specific method and HAND tool list ill need to remove this thing.. i have a feeling its gonna be a pita.

A crankshaft pulley tool(if you got one), a couple 1/2in breaker bars(the longer the better), 19mm socket and a long pipe. That's all you really need to take one off. I'm not sure what other accord pulleys will work other than the cb ones. And yes, it's gonna be a pita

youll have to find a way to stop the crank from turning, normally thats done safely with a Crank Pulley Holder Tool but in your case (JY) might as well just throw something into one of the cylinders until it locks up the engine and it stop turning, then you can get the bolt removed.

You might find an engine that's rusted shut. Probably wouldn't trust that the balancer tho, lol.

Use a prybar or big flat tip to lock the flywheel, vise grips work too. Use a very good quality 1/2 drive and 6ptX

rope down the spark plug port is gonna be the easiest way to do this without a crank pulley tool or an impact gun.

go get yourself a small bundle of 1/4" nylon rope.

remove a plug from whatever car you find with the best pulley.

stuff some rope down the plug port.

take your socket with extension(s) long enough to clear the fender and put it on the crank bolt thru the hole in the plastic cover.

put a big ass cheater bar on your ratchet/breaker bar and proceed to remove bolt as normal.

not that big of a PITA....

the jy's around here usually have a few cb7's in them. find one that has a 5 speed with the tranny still in (sometimes hard to find) shove it in 1st gear and get a buddie to lock the brakes down. push the brake pedal thru the floor if u have to but its the way i got the one off i needed.

                the rebuild!
