ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Slows down when shifting into second!!

Okay when I am driving my cb and I go to shift into second gear it like slows down or bogs. Then it will pick back up. Does anyone know why it would do that. I have a coworker that is having the same problem and he doesn't know either. Please give me some ideas on what could cause this thanks.

Maybe you're car need a tune up or try a fuel injector cleaner,i always use Lucas fuel treatment every oil change,or it could be the fuel filter.

tune-up, dizzy too retarted, dirty fuel filter. could be a number of thing. i kno everyone says ur wasting ur money but run a couple tanks of high test thru the car. no it will not improve ur performance, but will help clean some of ur vavles up. i bought my coupe and it was slow like urs. so 3 tanks of 93 octane and a decent right foot and runs like a top.

make sure your engine is running right like everyone else said. a tune up wont hurt just try that first.

What rpm's is it bogging at ? Could be the egr valve. Any engine codes popping up ?

It's called a 4-cylinder with no low-end torque (relative of course) and an incredibly long 2nd gear.

Well I thought about getting a tune up but it has new plugs, wires, and cap. It like only does it if I shift into second at a low rpm. If I shift later then it won't do it. I have also tried the 93 octane for a while but it didn't really help. Where is the egr Valve located. It is a pretty inexspensive fix.

its right in between the blaster coil and the trottle bodie.it only has 1wire and 2 12mm bolts on top. o the reason y it boggs cuse u dont have enough touqe at low rpms. ur car has to get in the power band that dosent start till 3k or so.

Yeah but I am not sure if its bogging. Like it seems more like i lose power or something then comes back.

is it consistent? mine does that when it is between warming up and cold. i ahvent found out why either. it idles fine and accelerates fine when warm.

im pretty sure its not boggin ur just not in the power band range for touqe not big deal really cause when racing u never go lower then 4k any way just ease off the pedel sum when u shift or drag 1st gear to about 4k then shift.

which is why it doesnt do it when its warm right?

OK, I'm confused. Are you guys trying to state that he doesn't know how to drive manual ?

I still think that an EGR is the still the issue because its the only common issue that I know of that creates bogging from 1.5 K to 3K, then acceleration picks up again.
