CEL comes on when I installed my P13 computer.

I own a 1993 Accord EX with a JDM H22 swap from a 1997 Prelude. I also did a auto to 5 speed swap. I bought a JDM P13 computer and when I installed it it the car CEL come on showing a Knock sensor error and a Vtec closed or short indication. The car started up but it runs a bit richer than the chipped stock 1993 Accord computer.
Where do I start to and correct these issues?
    Any information would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

if he is using the stock harness for the accord to wire up the h22 he still needs to use an obd1 ecu. so the p13 is right but not to sure on where to start to fix the problem

f22 didnt have a knock sensor. there's your problem right there. run one or get the ecu chipped and disable the knock.

            I have a H22, not a F22.
Also where can I get the computer chipped?
I live in Westchester County, New York.
            Thanks.

but if you're using a f22 wiring harness then there is no outlet for a knock sensor on your h22.

wed3k means that since you're running the H22 in a car that was equipped with an F22, the wire harness does not have a plug for a knock sensor. You need to add it.

The VTEC error may be improper wiring (did you wire for VTEC?), or possibly a bad solenoid.

I am assuming that you properly converted the OBD2 engine to OBD1, correct? Injectors, distributor, and ECU?

Accord and Prelude ECUs cannot be chipped properly. You're going to want to get a P28 from a 92-95 Civic EX or Si and have that chipped. Then you will have much more control over tuning (or the tuner that you hire will...) If you wire things correctly with the P13, however, you don't NEED a chipped and tuned ECU.

The distributor is for a 1993 Accord and the ECU is a P13 but I wasn't aware that the injectors would have to be replaced also. The Vtec solenoid and oil pressure sensor was tied into the Accord harness.

I bought the car with H22 engine already installed but I did the auto to manual gearbox conversion.

The previous owner told me the proper wiring is done and all I need to do is get an OBD1 ECU like a P13 and replace the factory ECU.

I will do a search for which pins on the P13 ECU is the knock sensor, oil pressure sensor and VTEC controls and the make sure the wires go to the correct pins and make sure the VTEC solenoid is good.

like stated above you need to run a wire for the knock sensor and check the wires that were ran for vtec bc it might be touching bare metal. the p13 usually run a lil rich. or you can buy a p28 or p72 and get it chipped with crome or hondata and have the knock sensor disabled. check your local junkyard for p28's they come in 92-95 civics ( not sure which trim levels ) or check the for sale threads there are a few in there too.

It is so hard to get proper help on here now days.

                        First off.

The P13 is the stock obd1 ecu for the obd1 h22.

If you are using an OBDII h22 into the accord you should have already swapped the injectors for OBD1 and so as the distrubitor.

The knock sensor needs to be wired in. So will a vtec pressure switch if you are using a USDM P13.

The JDM P13 does not check for the pressure switch but it does check for knock sensor.

The best bet would be to sell the P13 and have a P06 chipped. The P06 can be modified to use vtec and use the IAB's.

Also the reason why the car is now running super rich is because of the check engine now. The ecu will be in safe mode or semi safe mode with the knock sensor and vtec code.

I have a JDM P13 so I will make sure the knock sensor is wired to pin D3.

I am also running a 1993 Honda Accord distributor with an internal coil.

I am not sure about the injectors, what should I look for as for as OBD1 injectors are concern?

The VTEC pressure switch is already tied into the harness, do you think I should unplug it.

I will start with the P13 first and then see how it works.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
