ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    F22 DOHC ECU question...

Yo what ecu does this engine use? And is it possible to use the H23 ecu instead?

    #2
It uses the P39. Fairly difficult to find, since it seems the majority of the engines are shipped over without them.

The H23's P14 would run it, as would the PT3/PT6 from the F22A (that's what most people use).

If you can't get the P39, the best thing to do is run a chipped and properly tuned P06.

If you can't locate a P39, I would use a PT6 (f22a6) ECU over the PT3, the engines have more similarities.

There was a female member from here with turbo JDM F22B DOHC from TX that seemed to get a hold of P39's easy, try PMing her. I forget her username.

Ok that would be easier since I already have a f22a6 ecu. Do I have to chip it to get maximum performance? And where would I have that done?

Run the PT6 ECU for now then. This ECU is not used for chipping.

If you plan to add more mods, I would wait until you install them, then get a P06 ECU (92-95 Civic DX), which can be chipped. Then, locate a local tuner and go with whatever engine management they are good with for your setup. Going with what that tuner says is best, so they can do the best tune for you with what they are comfortable using.

A chipped & tuned ECU after further mods will be your best setup. I'd be fine with the PT6 ECU for now, as long as your JDM F22B DOHC is stock-like.

Well I don't plan on modding the engine other than maybe a header and intake. And just out of curiousity, what bullshit do I have to go thru in order to use the H23 ecu?

I believe the H23 ECU would require a knock sensor. It would also be fueling for a 2.3L engine. I don't know enough about how such things work to say for sure, but I would assume that a larger displacement engine would take more fuel. That means you'd be running rich.

The member Cisco mentioned is midnightrayne. I haven't seen her around for a while, but I think she's still active here. (yeah, just checked her profile... she logged on a couple days ago)
