ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Turbo Or Engine swap?!

I have an F22A1 and was wondering if any of you think I should just turbo it or do an engine swap. If I do turbo then what kind of ecu should I run and what other things should I get to help it run smoother.

personally I'd stick with an engine swap until you learn the technical aspect of turbocharging

Go with a 14b dsm setup. You'll need a chipped P06 ecu. Read up on the setup and do research first though. Research should be the most extensive part.

TURBO!!! they last a bit longer and if you do an engine swap (im guessing h22) then its going to be boring, boost the hell out of that f22a and you'll be kiking h22 and other top motors ass!!
But remember you need to do lots of research, there are some members on here who have nice f22a with turbo, one of them are pulling (i think) almost close to 400whp.
So if you want to get power, then boost the f22a. IMHO

I prefer boost over n/a. Personal preferance, but usually unless you have a decent amount of knowledge you will run into problems and reliabilty becomes an issues, especially if you are running a budget setup.

If you are boosting and funds are somewhat limited, got with a low number. Don't try to get the most amount of power out of your motor off the bat, it will cause problems. You need a lot of supporting mods to reach high numbers.

Don't cut corners and make sure you have all the supporting mods; it will save you from numerous headaches down the road. Once you start driving a car that is boosted it is hard to go back to n/a. Also if it's your DD and you need a reliable car that is fun, swap out your motor.

A fast boosted DD that is unreliable is not fun for too long. Research, research and research. You dont' need expensive parts to have fun, but the right parts. You can have a budget setup but you need to know where to save the money and where to add money. Good luck.

boosted engines lasts longer? no they don't

OP...depends on how much you want to spend...engine swap (h22) is cheaper, turbo the f22 is more exp...but if you boost the h22 you have to add the price of rebuild PLUS the new motor...f22's are cheaper than h22's also...and f22's have plenty of potential

You've got some reading to do. It's not a simple "this" or "that" answer.
