I'm installing the Ingalls upper ball joint camber kit and there is a couple of things that dont seem right. First the bottom sliding plate that seats under the CA. The hole on the plate is bigger that the ridge on the bottom opening of the CA. Significantly bigger. Also the top plate that seats on the top of the CA. Does it have to be pressed in? Anyone that can help I would greatly appreciate it. If anyone has information and can call me please do so. 770-771-2624

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Well you can only fit so much and I like getting my point across. Besides when needing help I generally only stoop to asking a question on here if I've depleted all other resources and its on the weekend from which most companies are closed. I can count on 1 hand the people Ive seen on here that "might" actually know what they are talking about. Anyways problem has been resolved. Close thread!Originally posted by deevergote View PostPlease make your thread titles more descriptive. You will get much more help that way.

depends which style you have...I've seen people refer to ingalls and this company apparently ingalls makes both adj. ball joints and adj. control arms.
However, you should have been given instructions. If they are the adjustable ball joints style and not the ones that replace the control arm bushings...read on.
are they like this...if so disregard the rest of this post

or this...if so...continue reading

it SOUNDS like you have the latter.
In which case I have done an install of these. The bottom plate on mine presses in, I actually had to use a press on one but my aftermarket control arms had a thicker lip than what my SPC ball joints were designed for...I actually fkd one up because it just ripped the threads instead of going on straight.
You will have to align the lower plate up so that you adjust only camber, and not caster. Camber being adjusted (when looking at the wheel) in and away from you, not to your left and right when facing the tire...(which is actually forward and backwards when sitting in the drivers seat).
My control arms have a hole cut in them where the oem ball joint presses in, it has a lip on the underside of the arm, that lip I had to trim with a dremel to get the spc's lower plate to slide onto. Once I did that is was a simple matter of placing the upper plat on top of the control arm, putting the ball joint through the hole, and tightening the bolt with washer down, everything pressed together. Note, I only had this fitment issue on ONE side, these were brand new control arms.
once you've done this you can remove the bolt/ball joint and the lower plate should remain in place. Install the control arm and the ball joint, tighten to spec (100-120 foot pounds but I dont recall so check the instructions...you will be fine with 100 foot pounds...I believe the spec is 90...I've done mine to 120, spc has done theirs to over 120)Last edited by bcjammerx; 11-15-2009, 03:04 AM.__
