ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    F22a6 intake

Ok well i got a crazy good deal($16 were just sitting on the floorboard of a T-boned cb7) on the a6 runners and phlenum at my local PAP

Now i am going to pick up the bisi intake gasket and probably new gaskets for the IAB plate...

Now i did not get any "black box" like stated that you need for the IAB's

    I've heard about deleting them?

I guess im asking is it better to delete them or go and locate the black box and use them?

    You mean, the butterflies?
I'd say get a black box, since it is are there for a reason. If you delete the air bypass valve, you'd loose bottom end torque.

If bottom end torque is not much a concern, just hook the air bypass valve directly to the plenum. You'll still loose some bottom end power, but at least not as much as if deleted the butterflies.
Though, its not the best way, its just an option. I don't have black box either, so just did that.

But if you want optimum performance, get the black box and PT6 ECU to run it.

i believe i lost a lot of mpg from leaving my butterflies open (winter). i just hooked the vac to the plenum. also, i think if you drive with a light foot the valves won't open. i plan on removing the vac for summer though. more fun at top end.

you won't hurt mpg by keeping them.

You won't gain anything by deleting them unless you are FI

you will need the black box and the ecu to run them properly. Otherwise...leave that piece off, get a blacktrax spacer for 5hp bump and a bisimoto intake gasket for added bump as well.

No, the P12 doesn't control them. The only ECU that I know of and would be best suited would be the PT6 ecu of a CB7 92-93 EX(F22a6).
While at it I would also get the camshaft of the A6, that way you'd properly run the PT6 and you'd also see nice gain as well.

Yeah the PT6 is the only ECU that controls the IABs

You could use the p14, but you'll run a little richer due to the h23 being bigger displacement. Also, you might as well run a PT6 because it is the RIGHT ECU for the F22.

How is this relevant to the topic? Well, whatever I guess. I would get it powder coated.
