ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    HELP please

ok so earlier today my batery light came on and than i shut the car off and it went away after i started it again, than later that day it came back on. it has a brand new battery and as i was headed home tonight my lights slowly started dieing so i was just wanting to know if anyone knew if there could be something other than the ALT. (also the tach and speedo stopped working but the millage counters and the fuel and temp still works) the fact i am asking is because i had a 93 10th any-v and it did the same thing and i took the cluster out and re-plugged it up and i also took the white plastic out from behind the fuse box in the floor and it fixed my problem, any help??

It could possibly be one of you grounds or ignition switch...

if it was the ignition switch i dont think that would phase the battery tho would it? i mean it still cranks over but acts like the battery is dead

check your battery connections. Loose connections will provide a weak spark, and the car will not start. Do all your accessories work?

If your new battery is dead, then it's either a defective battery, or your alternator is shot. If the battery is healthy, then check your connections and grounds.

my system still bumps and like my ac and stuff works but the dash lights die out and the head/tail lights i look at all the connections but havent charged the battery up because it was late when i got home but however i drove the car all day i would think it would have like fried out rather quicky because im always out driving my cb7 in town being bored so i mean its never sitting still so idk. although sometimes when i crank the car up if ur under the hook you can see a spark around the starter.

i actually just had the same problem i would check all your grounds and make sure you have good grounds if you do on the alt you have a hot wire that runs to it and a piece that plugs in my problem was that the piece that plugs in kept coming unplugged if that isnt connected good your charge will go in and out

Check your grounds at the very least, and pull your alternator and take it to advance they do free testing. I had the same problem on my old mx5 and it turned out the new alternator I had installed a month earlier shorted out. You never know until you have it tested.

it was the ALT guys. thanks. so get this, i took it to be rebuilt localy and i fried everything but the brushes, the man told me it could be from a stereo system, jumping people, and a bad battery. so first off i checked the battery even had it checked at advanced auto parts. So than i instently knew i have never jumped anyone sense ive owned/bought a new battery, so than i tought about my stereo, has anyone else had this problem??
