ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Throw Out Bearing Question??

Would a bad throw out bearing cause miss shifts?? My throw out bearing is making a lot of noise and is causing tranny vibrations when I rev up the engine....plus the car will try to move foward when reving while the clutch is pressed in (Very Slightly).....

I went to the track last SAT and couldent get the trans to fast shift for shit, I't kept missing 2nd or 3rd gear every pass!! Could this be my Throw Out Bearing???

How hard is it to replace???

When I shift I have to hold down the clutch for a sec or 2 to get it to switch gears W/O grinding or missing the gear...WTF!!

I'm pretty sure its the Cluch Release Bearing....It's only $30 bucks at Autozone.

I'm going to try it before I go and spend the $300 bucks on a H23 trans Swap....

A part that critical I wouldn't cheap out on. Someone else will chime and say basically the same thing on how it failed on them prematurely.

I'd say get one from the Honda dealership. I know I wouldn't want to pull the tranny again to save a few bucks now.

DO NOT cheap out on the throwout bearing. I did... and it caused my clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, and pilot bearing to fail. When you try to shift, does it sound like little chirping birds when you feel resistance? Mine did that... I ignored it. Drove around for quite a while... Then one day the clutch wouldn't release. I had to heel-toe to keep the engine going when shifting into 1st... and I shifted into the other gears without using the clutch. I drove 2 hours home like that.

I was waiting on Deev to pop in to retell his T/O bearing story and here we have it right on time too.

I feel your pain deev. Here is what happened to mine with a NON OEM Throwout Bearing

4 springs. I did not have to pry them out. They literally fell out.

                        Clutch plate.

See what it did to my flywheel bolts (springs started to round them off)

                        Go OEM.
