ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    lol @ title.

In my opinion, the gt20 is too small.

that turbo is perfect for what u said"only 6-8 psi".it willl spool to that presser really quicklly and have better accel response.that turbo is only rated for 15psi max.so 10-11 psi would be the best for that turbo.also that turbo works great with a stock block.

              my new turbo build

A small turbo will create a good amount of heat. On the H22, which already has fairly high compression, that is just asking for detonation to occur.

If you have to ask if a certain turbo is good for your old, stock NA Honda engine... then you don't know nearly enough to install ANY turbo. Do some research before you touch a thing under your hood.

The majority of the members that responded in this thread should probably take that advice as well. There is some VERY bad information given with seeming authority in this thread. That's the kind of stuff that will cause people to damage their engines when they read it. If I didn't know you guys were full of shit, i might believe you too!

Well, the GT20 is small, which will cause it to spool faster, but it will also generate a LOT of heat, like Deev said. Chances are, the exaust spooling your turbo isn't going to be cooled down enough before going back into your intake manifold and into your engine, causing detonation.

Not to mention your engine bay temps are going to be much higher, which could shorten the life of hoses, wires, etc. Also, heat in the engine bay is hard on your electrical components as well. Without proper ventilization you could be risking things like your alternator. Many DSM cars had a problem with this. The turbo was right next to the alternator causing alternators to die frequently. The solution was a relocation kit. A solution for poor engineering if you ask me.

So sure, you want quick spool, but not with a turbo as small as the GT20 on an application such as the H22a. I'd sell it and get a GT28. Make sure you do some research on forced induction. You'll want a nice big intercooler to ensure that you are getting cool air back into the engine, decent diameter piping for charge/intercooler, etc. Be sure to get a good dyno tune! The tune is one of the most important keys to forced induction.

                      Just my .02

Why would he want to even risk his engine with a cheap ebay turbo setup? Or waste the money? This is not very good advice.

He should do RESEARCH in order to decide if he wants to go boost, not cheap out on some parts and waste time and money for nothing.
