I have a F22 and was wondering if I can get an lsd for it. Would it be just the unit or would I have to get a new tranny.

You could get an H22a LSD transmission, or you could just buy an LSD from a company like OBX.
Your new LSD won't effect your ECU. The ECU controls the engine, not the transmission. However, a tuned ECU might help if you were to go through with this. To the best of my knowledge anyway.R.I.P. Veronica - JDM F20A swapped 2.0 Si wannabe.

The LSD simply makes both wheels turn instead of just the wheel that has the least amount of resistance (to put it simply). The ECU has no idea what's going on there. It makes no difference whatsoever. As far as your ECU and engine tuning go (including engine mods), your differential matters no more than the tires you have on your wheels.

GO with the OBX.... for the money it cant be beat... Ive been severely punnishing mine for a couple years. If you do it just replace the bellevue washers and youre good to go.
Ive blown up so many trannys its not funny, and IF you break the ring gear its ALOT more problematic to replace the JDM LSD ring gear.... You HAVE to find one out of another M2B4, and its hard....
I have a secret about that though..... Theres an unlikely donor tranny that the ring gear is exactly the same.750 WHP/575 TQ CD5 Raping a street near you....

It's amazing. OBX is usually a crap company, but they seem to have done really well with the LSD unit. The first ones tended to fall apart, but I've heard that they have since corrected that.
