ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    A/C not working!!! HELP!!

Hey guys my a/c went out on me a few weeks ago. I know the compressor is coming on. (I can hear it) And it is not the control panel. The temperature knobs do work. I first realized it stopped working when it rained HARD on my way back from Denver. The front windshield fogged up so bad that I had to pull over. Then I realized it wasn't getting cold AT ALL. No warning. The system is charged completely. No leaks.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I think I figured it out. The a/c clutch isn't fully engaging. Do you guys think I should just replace the clutch or the whole compressor?

Depends on how old the compressor is and what the delta is on buying the two parts. My guess is you would be better off replacing the whole compressor since odds are that your compressor is old and could go out later, not to mention the price is probably close between just getting the clutch and getting the ac comp with a clutch.

Are you sure it's fully charged? I had an issue once where I thought it was charged but instead it was full of air. I had a shop recharge it with oils and it fixed my problem.

if youre gonna open the system to change anything, you might as well do the r134a conversion while youre at it , because every time you open your system , or it springs a leak its gonna dump all that r12 outta there, and that shiz aint cheap.

Hey guys sorry for not responding sooner. It think the problem was my a/c clutch. I priced a new one but decided to go to a U-Pull It. ( I know I am cheap) I got an entire compressor for like $20.
