ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Installing it is essentially the same as installing an OBD2 H22A.

If you can PLEASE Swap the intake mani with an h22...injectors and all.
Reason is IACV and FITV on h23a vtec can't be found here...idky but you can't also an h22 iacv won't fit. trust me I needed one and couldn't find one...so I just replace the upper plunum<or however you spell it (upper part of the mani)
ALso the Injectors are smaller than the h22 (I beleive the h23 are 280 and the h22 are like 320) Either way your going to need different injectors BECAUSE the h23 injectors are obd2 (unless you can wire them to obd1-thats what I did)

KEEP THE THROTTLE BODY IF POSSIBLE because its a 68mm bore where as the h22 are like 62mm I believe I'm not certain about the h22 bore.

your going to need an obd1 dizzy. The F22A distributor internals will fit inside the H23A Vtec distributor housing. Just take them apart and swap the internals(as long as yours are ok). If you have external coil distributor it'll be WAY easier to just swap a USDM H22A distributor. Or if you have an H23A non vtec distributor kicking around and an internal coil car just use that.

The Mounting bracket that goes through the timing cover HAS TO BE swapped to a prelude 92-96 one. Anything off an H23A non vtec or H22A will work.

The rest of the swap was just a regular H22A swap basically. You will also need H22A OBD1 injectors and an OBD1 H22A P13 ECU other than that nothing really to it. I am still trying to find a prelude power steering line but I think i will give up and just look for different solution.

ENJOY...I do mines. It pulls amazingly with my f-tranny. I love that torque it puts out

The swaps section has a whole list of all the motors and their powers.
As far as which is best, its just a matter of what you wanting to do, how much you are wanting to spend, and how long you want to get to where you want to be. Only person who can answer that is you.

This thread has absolutely nothing to do with those two engines. Please post a new thread if you wish to ask an unrelated question.

ok so I was looking around and found a few threads but I did find 1 that helped but what is unsure is how much hp these engines put out I asked the company I might be getting the engine from and he said this motor put out 210hp and about 165 ft lb torque now the debate was that the only engine that came wit over 200 hp was the h22 euro which I believe is red top which has 220 hp so the ? Is how much hp does this h23 really have
