Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

    problem with 93 accord

hey guys I just sold my 91 slush box lx for a 93 5speed lx, the car has 260k on the clock but still runs strong besides one problem I can't figure out, when I'm driving down the street and go to change gears the rpm's don't go down when I push the clutch in like its supposed to they stay high for like ten seconds and then go down, can anyone tell me what this is? a throttle position sensor maybe? thanks for any help

Sounds like your clutch is not disengaging.

Check your master cylinder reservior is full first

Then Check the manual transmission has enough gear oil

Check the likagages and cables if any to see if conditions are still servicable.

If the above looks alright then perhaps your clutch needs replacing.

If the clutch isnt disengaging wouldn't it kill when he comes to a stop?

                Correct; it would stall out.

I'm guessing a sticky throttle cable, worn out throttle plate spring, or dirty butterfly valve.

Sorry my bad. Read the question too fast and misread it.

It may be sticking accelerator cable, pedal or dirty and sticking throttle mechanism (round pully that rotates on top of engine near fuel injection rails)..

I'd also suggest a sticky throttle cable or also could be sticky throttle body butterfly. If fitted, it might be an IACV problem also.

does it do the same whenever you just give the gas pedal a little blip? like when you just give it a quick touch with your foot, not to the floor.

i'm guessing a leak in your intake somewhere. recently when i changed over to a short-ram intake, whenever i would touch the gas it would stay up in the RPM i pushed it to for an extra second or two longer than it should have. it also stayed up when i would push in the clutch (because my foot was just on the gas). this was because of a vacuum leak/air leak in my airboost valve. i blocked that off and it's fine now.

i'm not saying it's your air boost valve, but i would take little parts off your intake manifold and install them with new gaskets or just clean up any dirt around them to assure that they're sealing tightly.

                      hope this helps.

I had a neighbor help me out with it, he loosened up the throttle stopper screw and it worked, but now I have another problem thats getting worse, the car started to miss if I hit the throttle too fast and was ok at higher rpm's but now the car misses almost all the way to 4k rpm through every gear, any ideas?

Failing dizzy, bad spark plugs and wires. I would perform a full tune up on the car then see how it runs after.
