ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

It shouldn't be a problem. Just swap everything over, including the coolant pipe. You might have a problem with the driver side mount, should be able to swap them over.

swap the head on, change the coolant pipe, and use an F22aX timing belt. I only remember using the F22aX mount on the drivers side that has the rubber in it. I'm almost positive the mount brackect on the block was the same. I was running this same setup before

if you look in the performance tech section and read the sticky that says H/F engine demensions it shows almost the same exact numbers for the F22a and the F22B block. the the obd2 blocks didn't have the timing light hole under the water neck. You do the timing light off of the crank pulley and the timing belt cover.

there isnt a DIY thread for this swap is there? i hope so but the keywords i put in never bring anything useful up. i hope i dont start doing this swap and run into problem after problem.

its pretty much a straight forward swap, replacing an engine and doing a headgasket all at once lol

The f22b1 head is completely different than the f22a1 head. But the block is the same from what Ive found. There is a difference in the driverside mount - engine side. You need to use the a1 but there is a portion of it which is very close to the timing belt and will cause your timing belt to slap against it if you dont grind it back I would say 3-4 mm.

Trust me it slaps, i know i made mine do it lol! doesnt really matter for me as my head had broken exhaust valves and I have to remove all of it again.

As said before im pretty sure its a direct swap, as long as you swap the coolent pipe too. BUT do note the head gaskets are different!! so make sure you can figure out which one works best...

use the head gasket for the head you are using and it will be fine. I used the head gasket for my F22aX head and it was fine.
