ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

i used a pretty crappy ratchet and a 36mm socket and they came off..all i did was put a piece of pipe to make the hangle longer, came right off.

Heard about this from another mechanic then googled it and found this info
            Wax On, Wax Off

OK, if you don't have any penetrating lubricant on hand or you want to try another technique, the wax method may be your savior. Long before Norm Larsen figured out the formula for WD-40, mechanics were using wax to do their dirty work. All you need is some paraffin wax (candle wax) and a source of focused heat. A propane torch or a heat gun should be used to gently heat the fastener. In this case, you don't have to get it too hot, just warm enough to melt the wax. Once the metal is warm enough, touch the candle to the fastener around the edges and allow the wax to melt. The heat will pull the wax into the gaps between the bolt and nut threads and allow for easier turning. Remember that the wax will tend to flow to the heat source, so heat the bottom threads the most.

You need a breaker bar, not a ratchet. The force you're applying is breaking the relatively delicate ratchet mechanism in your ratchet wrench, whereas the breaker bar is just basically a hunk of steel with nothing except possibly the pivot pin to break, and that isn't going to break. Put your 3.4 foot pipe over a decent 1/2" breaker bar and it and it will be all over.

Hit the nut with PB Blast right now while you're getting the breaker bar. You can borrow one from Autozone or get one from Sears. Make sure the breaker bar handle is not so thick that your pipe won't fit over it.

Yes this is very important to get it off otherwise you won't get it off.

take a center punch and hit the indent out. if you haven't already.
