ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

a friend of mine had the same problem on his focus it turned out it was one of the injectors. you might wana try this. (its kinda ghetto) take a long screwdriver, place the end (the metal part) on a injector. bring your head down and try to listen to the pulses of each injector. if they all sound uniform then your injectors should be fine. its obviously not as accurate of a test than a injector balance test. but it should do if they all sound the same then i would do what the others above stated

check basics. Take the wire with the car off, shove another wire in it and hold it to near metal ground when the car is running, is it getting spark?

If not then its going to deal with something in the cap and rotor.

If it is getting spark then do a compression test on that cylinder.

Have you ever even taken the spark plug out of that cylinder to insepct it?
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

yeah the injector idea was a good suggestion. Since it doesn't seem like removing the spark plug wire does anything. It could either be the sparkplug or the injector.

                    not that hard at all,
the haynes manual says to replace all the seals,

but i found out the hard way that from honda
they totalled up to 60 bucks,

                    (4 seal rings)
                    (4 cushion rings)
(4 lil o-rings for the top of the inj.)

                    u can re-use the 4 plastic rings

Could i just pick up an injector at the junkyard or would that be a bad idea?

U can use a standard deep socket tool to get the spark plug loose, then use the spark plug wire to take it out.

dont just replace the injector. Test the wire that goes to it first to confirm its getting power and a pulse from the computer.

I dont know why people resort to very drastic methods when the issue can easily be tested first.

So what exactly do i need to do to test an injector?

I checked my spark plug today and it was perfectly fine. I didnt even know i had a spark plug socket in my tool box lol.

had a problem like this just recently on my GFs cb. turns out to be a burnt valve. Check for actual spark coming from #4 wire. Then you'll now its firing. If it is, then you might have a burnt valve. Case in point my GFs was the #3 cylinder on an exhaust valve. It was chipped lol. All is well now. but thats what i get from that. Her car was doing that SAME THING. Did a valve job now its good to go. That or replace the head, whichever route is cheaper. Be sure to clean off any oil left on top of the piston. Good luck

What exactly is a " burnt valve " and does it hurt preformance or only idle?

get a noid tester or if you have a test light, test the 2 wires thats going into the fuel injector. one wire will show constant power, the othe one will show a pulse. You can compare to the other ones.

If ur spark plug came out perfectly fine does it look the same as the other ones in the other cylinders? if not then something is going on there.

have you did the other thing i said, hold the spark plug wire connector near a ground to see if you have a spark?
