ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Engine Leak

I recently topped off on Engine oil last month and it just leaked out. I noticed on the bottom that there was engine oil and rad fluid. I asked around at school and they told me it was a cracked engine block. I was wondering how much this would cost? and could this be sum thing else?
    thanks

dont listen to others that say extreme stuff like a cracked block. thats pretty rare on these cars. its most likely a combination of leaks. id suggest cleaning any visible oil off with some brake cleen or similar and then see where the oil comes from. You didnt give much info as to where its coming from other than the bottom. oil is always going to come from the bottom due to gravity.

If it's a cracked block, you're better off just replacing the entire engine.

Where is the leak on the engine? If it's coming from the transmission side, it could be the rear main seal. If that goes bad, a leak would be severe.

The Engine oil leak is right in the middle its on a pipe, and the rad drips over from the engine cover so i can't really tell. I put water in there for temp, that wont ruin anything will it?

you really need to be more specific as to the locations and descriptions of things. right in the middle on a pipe tells me nothing, there are many pipes and hoses that can leak. Its probably not engine oil though because oil does not travel through any pipes on the f22a engine. Therefor i take it your car is an automatic?

the radiator is not near any engine cover, hondas dont have engine covers for that matter. are you referring the the valve cover? if so say more about what side, whats around it etc. the more info you give the better your responses will be. even if you dont know anything about cars do your best to describe surrounding things so we can get some clue as to what and where you are talking about.

If you don't know the names of the components you are referring to, take a picture, circle the areas that are leaking, and we'll be able to offer more assistance.

Sorry for holding you guys up
I gave it into the mechanic after if got really severe and they fixed it up
they said that the radiator hose at the bottom came loose and the engine oil leak was due to the oil pump switch which was busted
              Thanks for all your help

There you go, nice and simple. The "oil pump switch" is probably the oil pressure sending unit above the oil filter, by the way.
