ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

you have confirmed that you have TWO sensors...and not just ONE unplugged sensor?

if you have two...the first is before the cat the second is after the cat...it looks for a differential in readings between the two...if they read anywhere near...the cat is bad...that is the second ones purpose. it's more like a good/bad cat sensor. but we are not obdII and I don't know of a cb7 stock form that has two o2 sensors...

The F22A6 (which is the motor you have now) has the o2 sensor on the downpipe. The F22A1, which is the motor that you had in your car previously, has it on the manifold. It seems that you may have the F22A6 downpipe on the F22A1 manifold, with 2 o2 bungs... OR you're running an aftermarket header that came with both bungs (Megan Racing headers do this, I believe)

You only need one o2 sensor.

OK i see yea i must have the a1 header/manifold because it has an 02 sensor that's just hanging there and the guy i bought my cb from said there was another oxygen sensor under the car that was not connected to the upstream o2 sensor and that was the reason it had the cel on..p.s if i only need one o2 which one do i use and what do i connect it to??sorry this is my first car so im a noob at this stuff

It probably doesn't matter too much either way. The easiest way to do it would be to use the one that your harness is wired for... so the one up top would be easiest.
Though the F22A6 is designed to use the one on the downpipe for whatever reason (I'd prefer to have my o2 readings showing more than one cylinder...) and the F22A6's ECU, the PT6 (which you may or may not have... if you don't have it, you should get one) is probabl programmed for readings from the downpipe.

You shouldn't have serious issues using either one... just hook one up and make sure it works! If you need to replace it, get NGK/NTK or Denso. Don't get a Bosch sensor.

where exactly do i connect the upstream o2 sensor since mine is just dangling there?

Find the plug that's supposed to go to it. The car is wired for an F22A1, so that's the one that the harness should reach (I assume you mean the one on the manifold)

Yea my o2 sensor is connected to the manifold I see what you mean.there's only one problem the guy ho had the car b4 me told me that it didn't reach so he cut the wire to extend it so it would reach so now I have to go hunt down where that ripped wire is and attach some wire to it so it reaches my o2 sensor...ps thanks very much for all tour input

Ugh... what an idiot. You should always extend the wire on the sensor, not the harness! Well, make due with what you have. whever the wire seems to reach properly is where you should hook the sensor up. If he had a sensor just plugging the hole, then leave it there. It won't hurt anything. One sensor needs to be functonal, that's all.
