ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Break Squeek

    Hello,

Would it be a break not alligned properly If I am hearing squeeking based on how fast my tire is turning. I figured it is as it doesnt make the noise when the pads are cool, as well when I apply light pressure to the break pedal the squeeking stops.

Is it easy to adjust a break mechanism myself? If so what should I look for?

    Thanks!

some pads squeek when the need to be replaced they start to squeek while braking but then squeek while driving so on that note are your pads new?
I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

They are brand new I believe. My family mechanictold me some break work had to be done. I just figured they should be squeeking loudly regardless if there brand new. They dont squeek when I start driving, but by the time I am at work and Im driving 40-30km and below they are extremely loud. Figured there could be an easy fix!

well thats a little weird did you put the break lube on them when they were installed ? id say it wouldnt be alignment issues since pads only go in one way so its hard for them not to allign. also have your rotors been turned?

If you haven't looked at them yourself, then thats the first thing you should do. Just take the wheel off and remove the caliper. Spray the rotor with brake cleaner and the pads. Re-install and then post back what you find.

Yea, I mean its weird because I just had the car serviced like 2 weeks ago and I just started hearing it a week ago. I am still at work, but I will take off the front and back tire to see what the deal is. Any good brand of break cleaner I should use?

i use 3m high power brake cleaner and IMHO i never take my cars into a mechanic they seem to rip off i can do all the things myself for a fraction of the price and ie had alot of friends take their cars to shops for oil changes etc and pay alot then come to find out the oil was never changed or the service they paid for wasnt perfomed but thats my view on that but any brake cleaner will work personally i prefer 3m to each his own post if that helps the problem

does it make the sound while turning at all?

check and make sure your brake shims are on correctly. probably not the problem but just check to make sure.

Actually I first noticed the problem when turning at low speeds. And now its all the time period at low speeds!!! Could that be the issue?

Ok so I took both the front tire and back tire off. Everything checked out ok, took the breaks apart and sprayed the cleaner on the parts. I wont find out until tomorrow on my way to work if the squeek is gone.

Thanks for all the help with everything!

What kind of brake pads are you useing?
Some pads will squeek when they are cold.

I have Hawk racing pads and they squeek when Im driving slowly (5mph)
But they perform very well, and I live with it.

So the trek to work went perfect! No squeeking! Mind you, it was colder outside dismorning but that shouldnt really have an effect! So thank you, the break cleaner worked!

Ill drive it around later today and if there are any issues I will post back!

                            Thanks to all!

If anti-squeak goo wasn't put on the back of the pads, they may squeak.
