ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Today's second problem, AC leaking?

So iv been noticing fluid(water?) on the passenger side footing. Turning on the AC today it was spitting out? Condensation? AC drain clogged? General ideas quick checks?

General thought, the AC is no where as cold as it used to be. Correction it's not cold, it's just cool air at this point.

There is a drain hose for condensation to run out from the evaporator box in the passenger area. Either the hose is clogged or has popped out of the firewall causing water to drain into the car. Get that fixed asap as it can get onto the ECU that's right underneath plus it can make the car smell bad if it gets wet enough.

When you turn the A/C on, do you hear the compressor kick in and both fans turning on?

I would have to agree with XK86. Your drain tube has probably dislodged and is in the cabin instead of out through the firewall. You should take your car an AC shop make sure your system is charged. After having a car this old, they tend to need a recharge.

What do you guys think about those diy regard can things? Or are those too old to use on a car like this?

Don't know about both fans yet, but I can certainly here one. I'll be able to take a better look when I'm home.

You should hear the compressor relay "click" and both fans should come on when the A/C is running. It's normal for it to cycle on and off. The main A/C line that runs in front of the rad (where there is no insulator, like where the 2 hoses meet by the dogbone mount) should be cold.

There was another thread on the DIY AC kits. Most members advise against them. Although I won't disagree the "proper way" is the best way to do it, I had sucess with the DIY kit. I changed all my o-rings and got a new drier and used the DIY Walmart retrofit kit to recharge my system. 3 years and I am still blowing cold and never had to recharge once. I've used it for a few other people's cars after my experience and they've held up as well. But the important thing is change the o-rings and make sure there are no leaks.
