ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Help...bad Lubrication

Hey guys, I have a BIG problem, as some of u may know I've been waiting on my crank which I just got back, but when I went to pick it up the guy that worked on it told me that my engine had bad lubrication because the journals were very marked. I removed my oil pump and measured theclearance and all were within spec, almost perfect. So my concern is, is there anything else other than the oil pump that can cause bad lubrication?

Just to let u guys know, while I was waiting on the crank I took advantage and clean every passage I was able to see and replaced all the gaskets and seals, What else should I do to make sure I I dont have this problem again? I am a maintance freak so now that this car is in my hands it will be getting all its regular maintanance intervals.

Please let me know what should I do...THANKS

By bad lubrication he couldve meant you didnt have enough oil, which to me seems like the case. The pump might not be dispersing oil as effectily if there is little oil to pump if you know what im saying. Make sure your oil is at the proper level.

I'm no expert on engine blocks, but that sounds like a possible result of a previous owner never changing the oil.

Now that I cleaned them, yes, as to the pick-up tube and screen I left it in some gasoline for a few days than blew some high pressure air in to make sure it was completely clean.

So what I seeing is that now that I cleaned everything I shouldn't have any problems...correct?

I would not go as far as to say that. Those are just some things to check. Since your oil pump checked out ok, my next thought was to check the pickup tube. But if you had considerable grim in your oil passages...there could still be grime in the crank passages, head...etc etc.
