ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

LED conversion and Odometer issue...

    LED conversion and Odometer issue...

I recently swapped all of my vehicles bulbs with LEDs. (Cluster included) After getting everything hooked back up, my odometer is no longer working. I've done LED swaps on multiple vehicles prior to this and never had such a problem. Any ideas?

I searched the forums for unresponsive odometers and read a few posts concerning the VSS. Could this be the issue and me opening the cluster is just a coincidence?

I have noticed on two separate occasions the speedometer needle bounce around or even drop to zero briefly at highway speeds. However, the speedometer has been working fine lately... Could it still be the VSS when the speedometer is operational?

The sporadic needle issue could be a failing VSS. Perhaps now it finally went out. If you have another cluster, I'd swap that in and see if that solves the problem, if not, I'd look into getting a new speed sensor. There are ways to test your speed sensor, you have to jack your car up and spin the tire while probing the wiring and check the numbers, I don't remember what the parameters are, off the top of my head. But, they are in the Hayne's manual.

You probably forgot to plug the motor for the odometer back into the clusters motherboard. I did the same thing once.

Actually I did... I opened it back up yesterday and plugged it in thinking that would solve it, but still nothing.

I can attest that a speedometer needle randomly dropping is due to your vss.

This was the case in my brothers CD Accord. He used it till it actually made his d4 light blink

I believe your modification to the instrument cluster has not caused this problem.
