ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

            The passenger side axle is the same for both auto and 5 speed so it would just come down to abs or no abs. What do you mean by lock rims? Does the new axle have the c-clip on the end (on the tranny side)? The plastic thing you are talking about may be the dust shield to keep crap out of the bearing but pics would help.

              Exactly my thoughts.

              The plastic was a dust shield to keep crap out of the axle. If there isn't a locking C-clip on the tranny side of the axle then it won't stay in. If your new one didn't have one already, just pop the old one off and put it on the new one.

              And yes, one axle is shorter than the other from passenger to driver side. If it's still too short then go to autozone. Maybe advaced is giving you a civic axle or something to that effect. And don't change your tranny out just because one axle isn't fitting properly. That's like replacing a car because it has a flat tire.

                    There's NO difference between the two passenger axles. The AUTO one can be installed as a passenger side standard (5sp) one. As for that ring you took off, that would be for the ABS (i hope your car doesn't have abs...) Even if you did remove it, it should not affect the axle slipping out as your describing. If i were you, i would get a different axle manufacturer. As for the axle part number's and whatnot - what you are looking for is:

                    CARDONE SELECT Part # 664075 More Information About this Part {New}
                    W/ or W/O ABS; Front Right

                    A-1 CARDONE Part # 604075 More Information About this Part {Reman. A-1 CARDONE Constant Velocity Drive Axle}
                    Standard trans.; 4-Wheel ABS; Front Right
                    Automatic trans.; 4-Wheel ABS; Front Right

                    AUP Part # 3987N More Information About this Part
                    Standard trans.; Front Right
                    Automatic trans.; Front Right (Only 1 Remaining)

                    I Highly recommend getting a BRAND NEW Cardone. I got mine replaced under warranty when my ball joint blew out, and sheared my axle. The shaft on mine was slightly larger then the OEM axle, and the boots looked like they were far better designed, as well as more urethane compound (which makes them flex more). Ask me how i know this, i work at a parts store for almost 5 years... Ive had time on my hands.
