ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

you could heat the springs and get a drop like that. cutting is another option , but be sure you measure them by diameter ..also no matter what ppl say i got some ebay springs and i think there great. had no problem with them yet.good luck and keep a positive attitude and your golden.

A man that keeps looking back can't see whats in front of him.

Safely? I wouldn't expect to spend less than $500. Springs are about $200, shocks are about $250, and an alignment is about $65. Those three things are absolutely necessary, and you don' twant to cheap out on any of it.

Crap springs will sag, or worse, snap. Sagging springs will cause alignment issues, destroying your tires very quickly. A snapped spring will cause you to lose control.

Stock shocks, or shocks that aren't designed for the springs you install, will blow. Blown shocks will seriously reduce your car's ability to corner and stop... deadly in an emergency.

No alignment will result in bald tires VERY quickly. I've seen tires become dangerously bald in under 3000 miles on a car that was lowered less than 2" and never given a proper alignment.

A good camber kit is also a good idea, especially if going lower than 2". The toe alignment (all you can do without a camber kit) will save your tires for a while, but the negative camber associated with a lowered vehicle with this type of suspension will destroy the insides of your tires very quickly. Once that's worn, the tires are as good as bald. I know this from experience. A good camber kit can cost you anywhere from $150 to $400. Again, DO NOT get cheap here... Once again, experience talking. A cheap camber kit nearly killed me.

If you give dangerous advice to my members again, you will be permanently banned from this site.

A positive attitude isn't going to save the life of the 6 year old that runs in front of you when you're unable to stop.

            Megan Racing Coilover Sleeves
            Koni Yellow's Shock

That's the basics in needing to drop my car? i probably wont go to low, but a camber kit will come in later on.

thats a really good start. if you ever want to change sping rates, it'll be easy. ERS or QA1 makes aftermarket springs.

The Megan sleeves aren't great, but they're not so low quality that they're dangerous. The konis are a very smart choice.

If you don't get a camber kit, be very conscious of the insides of your tires. Feel them every few hundred miles. The insides WILL wear faster than the middle or outside. They may look perfectly fine, but when the inside wears (the inside will be the primary contact patch) the tires are done. Rotate your fronts to your rear before they get too bad to prolong the tire life.

I really wanted a camber kit too, Do i need for front and rear or just rear? I've seen some car only packing some camber in the back and some in the front.

Only problem that i couldnt was that im low on cash. I could get it, but need that bit of it till my next paycheck then a camber kit and re-align then im good to go =D
