ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Best Timing Belts (High Performance)

i am kinda new to this cb7 forum but still respect everybody's input

i bought autozone timing belts for my cb7 but 5 months later they stretched out a little bit. i am worried they might fail soon, because i drive about 90 miles a day. Need opinion which is best for daily driver cb7 in southern Cali.

= Honda OEM Timing Belts from Japan
= Gates Performance Racing Timing Belt looks good (have alot of feedback)
= found Vibrant Performance timing belt but need more info on those
    = TSUBAKI timing belts ===> yes/no?
= ACSM Timing Belts ( LOOK CHEAP ==> China) IDK
= Cosworth Kevlar High Performance Timing Belts from HorsepowerFreaks LOOKS GREAT
= also found K&L Timing Belt and Greddy

all these timing belts but what do you guys have set up on your cb7

Honda OEM is garunteed to work
Gates Performance, has good feedback.. Go with it if it's cheaper than the OEM
Cosworth sounds the goods, but if its way expensive itd probably be overkill for your needs
Don't buy any of the cheapys, there's not a big difference between a cheap and an expensive timing belt
Whereas a new set of valves/maybe piston heads will cost you a small fortune

      just go with OE honda.
if you're stock or even have a few bolt ons its perfectly sufficient, no reason for a high performance belt.

      Bought from: Bisimoto, FuncOvrForm, HondaGuy1212, wed3k, Konigstiger, 1st2run, BillKisme, k-mart, benjerman112

when the time came for my CB's F22 engine to do a T belt/water pump, I went w/ a Continental timing belt. It felt fine to me I couldn't really feel a difference between my OE Honda one and that before and after which is good

I have also heard good things about gates. I think they have something in their rubber that makes them more resistent to chemicals too.

              helpful feedback, thanks.
the only reason why i asked was because that autozone belt (made in Kore i think) stretched a little and is making that squeaking noise on start and between 2200rpm and 3100rpm it rattles.

I have goodyear gatorback belts in my car. No stretching, no problems. They were recommended by my mechanic
