Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Is This Problem From The IACV?

Ok this problem is very irritating and kind of dangerous. I cleaned my IACV quite a while ago probably about 2 months ago and ever since my car has had a messed up revving problem. It will rev to about 1500 rpms and stay there until I throw it in neutral or wait about 8 seconds while it's still in drive or reverse. It doesn't matter if my car is warm or cold. it doesn't do it all the time but it does it a lot of the time. I personally think its a little dangerous.
    BTW my cars an auto.

Anyone have any ideas on what it is I'd appreciate some advice.
    Thanks.

So try cleaning it again and I'll do that (tighten the FITV).

i have the same problem. happened to me after i cleaned out the iacv and fitv, i think when you take them off for cleaning you have to replace the rubber gaskets

some also suggested to bleed the coolant after you cleaned your iacv and fitv.
sometimes the idle adjustment bolt on the throttle unscrews a little bit (check that too) this usually may hold the rpms

next time the car is revving like that, put your foot under the gas pedal and lift up on it. not to hard. see if the idle goes down.

            Bump from the past.

Ok still having this problem. I have switched the iacv three different times with two different iacv's that i got from the junkyard. I cleaned both of them before I installed them and I still have the rpm problem.
Like before if I tap the gas my rpms will stay at ~1500 rpms for 5ish seconds and sometimes longer. If I throw it in neutral (auto) while its doing it, it will raise up a couple hundred rpms for a split second then drop down to idle.
I cleaned my FITV and still no change.
I would really appreciate some help/advice because this is very irritating!

            Thanks
            Brian.

I did once, the first time I cleaned it. But I haven't after that one time. Think I should? lol

Coolants full, I can try bleeding it, and how would I go about checking the temp sensor?

On the FITV, aside from cleaning it, did you tighten it down while it was hot?? Becuz thats what fixed my own idle surging.

No I just tightened it all the way then back it off just a little, after I cleaned it.

all you have to do is just unplug the iacv and see what it is...it should take all of 30 seconds.

Ok, so unplug it when its fully warm, then go drive it and see how it acts?

You think I should reset my ecu?

Ok, I'll try this tomorrow. I don't think it's the problem, but It's worth a try.

                              Thanks.
