ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Auto trans goes to neutral:angry:

When I run my car, shifts fine, but when past 2 or 3 min. of running, the trans goes to neutral and don't shift anymore. I turn off the engine and start it again and shifts fine, but 2 or 3 minutes of running, the problem returns, and I do the process again and again.... It's an automatic transmission, and someone told me that the problem is electronic, a solenoid or something like that, another guy told me It's a dirty filter and/or a pressure something. What you guys think bout that? what it could be?

when you say run, do you mean drive normally or race?

Check your fluid and report back like was stated above. It should look nice and red and smell kinda sweet.

Yeah, It's happening in every gear, I attemp on "sport mode" and It's the same problem. I've to restart the motor and the problems stops but in no time continues. I guess the fluid is fine, I'll re-check tomorrow in the daylight.

Let me explain me better; The car shifts to 2nd, 3rd, 4rd the first time normaly, but if I reduce or stop and try to accelerate again It gets like on neutral, (maybe it shifts and run on 1st once but later the problem returns.) No gear. But, when I turn off the motor and start the engine again, it becomes normal 1 or 2 mins, and then the same thing again. Please help me on this. It's my daily use car.

is the s on your dash acting funny?

you might want to try swapping in another tranny ecu from another ex 90-91 with the "S" mode.

I once had a problem with my tranny ecu going bad and it made my tranny slip and only shift from 1st to 4th.

I thought that, maybe the problem is on the ECU or the solenoids.

Can I clean the solenoids? Which is the best way?

La transmision esta ya en sus ultimos dias. No gastes chavos en solenoids, on ECU...ya los cambios no quieren ajustarse con el cambio de velocidad. Creeme, a mi me paso. Considera hacerte el 5spd swap, o otra transmision automatica.

Just a heads up. Countless auto accords have hit the junkyards cause the owners thought the tranny was gone and it was as simple as a tranny ecu switch. Be warned though it has to be the sae exact modl as yours. The car you get it from has to have the sportshift option if yours has it. I liked sportshift I dont know why they got rid of it in the auto trannies.

If you have to tear apart the tranny to replace things it probably cost to much money like stated by cb7pr and your better off spending money else where.

locally if you can find a tranny ecu it will be in the 25-50 dollar range. I dont know about back in PR. Try maybe ebay?

Crack open your TCU you'll find several capacitors have leaked out their electrolyte fluid and maybe some resistors being burnt.

                            Look closely at resistors R41, R42, R43 and capacitors C5, C27, C28, C32, C33.

I had a the same problem, my fix was a 5spd swap.
