ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

normal RPMs?

It's determined by the gearing, so they are all the same. There is no "normal" or "abnormal". Each gear at a given speed will have the engine at a set RPM. I can't say exactly, because I haven't had an F22A since 2003... but I assure you, your RPM at 70mph in 5th gear will be exactly the same as anyone else's with the same transmission and tire size.

well it depends on if it is a 4 speed auto or 5 speed manual
it would also be different if it was lx or ex 5 speed
wagons also have a LONGER FINAL DRIVE(fucking caps button)
my 93 ex coupe 5speed is at about 2.7-2.8k will double check tonight tire size stock alloys 195-60-15
my 93 ex wagon is an auto and it is at 3.5-3.7k i think but the torque converter is messed upLast edited by quaidum; 08-31-2010, 09:31 AM.

sorry i had no clueOriginally posted by deevergote View PostWhy do people think that the RPMs will change if something is wrong with their car? The only way that would happen is if it was in a lower gear! And you'd know if you were driving around in 4th at 70mph, trust me.
There will be no variation. It is impossible.

Mine(when she was running) was in the 27xx-28xx range but that was with me using my GPS as a speedo, apparently my stock speedo is a little off.Call me Travis.

Just think a little bit... it's really not a hard concept to grasp.
Your tires count as part of the "gearing" of the transmission. The engine will spin faster to propel the car to 70mph with smaller tires than it would with larger ones.
Equipment accuracy also comes into play. The RPMs should usually be accurate, but the speedometers aren't always. Any variation will be due to those two things. Everything else, the RPMs will be exactly the same on every F22A equipped with that transmission.
Asking this question is like asking "I'm 6'1 and I never hit my head on a doorway that's 6'4. Does anyone else that's 6'1 ever hit their head on a doorway that's 6'4?"

what if the torque converter on an automatic wasn't locking in(or out which ever it does) to drop the rpms in fourth
that's what happening in my wagon it is at a way higher rpm than my sedan was
