So with the vacuum hose connected to the EGR Valve, the car has a rough idle and will stall out. However, when I disconnect the vacuum hose from the EGR Valve, the car runs smooth and drives without any sudden stalls. I was wondering if it's alright to drive with the vacuum hose disconnected until I find out the real problem. Would it ruin the car?

well if im not misstaken removing the vacum hose just closes the valve and doesnt recurculate the exhaust gases back into the intake so i dont think it would hurt the engine -
looks like the egr solenoid is always grounded or the contacts are stuck together.Comment

the solenoid is in the black box above the fuel filter. i would say unplug it and plug it back in. this may free up the contacts otherwise see if you get 12v across both wires. if the ecu is always grounding it because most solenoids are ground side controlled then you wont get any voltage, i think....
or put a test light on the positive batt terminal and see if the power side of the solenoid is being grounded. the light should light if it is being grounded.Comment

ive had my hose plugged for awhile now . u can c me thread on the cb5 board its called egr heisitation? it doesnt seem that people know how to fix becouse u might have to remove fuel injection and its just not worth the headache, just plug it u'll be fine, and the car will run smooth> dsComment

my bad, the egr valve may be stuck open a bit. it may just be a matter of removing or replacing the egr valve.
your egr ports are good if the car is stalling, at least we can confirm that.Comment
