ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

can the front window motor be swapped from the back window?

i was just wondering if the front window motor can be swapped from the back window motors? my driver side window motor isn't working so my ass be burning up.. out of all windows it would be the front driver side..

Compare part numbers. If the part number for the motor is the same for front and rear, then it's the same part.

It's a pain in the ass to just replace the motor, though. Aftermarket regulators come with the motor already installed. Makes life much easier.

no. the part numbers and designs for the front and rears are completely different. of all the windows it's usually the front driver side that goes first. i just had to replace the regulator on my front driver side recently.

The regulators are definitely different part numbers, but the motors themselves are as well?

yeah, they are physically different. maybe the internals may be the same but the motor housings are designed front and rear to be mounted to their complementary regulators.

the rear motors cannot be replaced by themselves it comes with the regulator attached so the answer would be NO
i know you don't want to replace the motors for the rear but they cannot be separated from the regulator so they cannot be moved to the front

see how the motor is attached to the assembly

              now look at the front,

the motor and regulator are two different pieces

Oh yeah, I completely forgot the rear regulators were so simple! The last time I worked on one of those was 2003...

well despite it being a part of the regulator assembly i have on several occasions at my local "pick your part" come across many regulators with motors removed. in some cases it looks as though they were pryed off until the welds broke (in the case that they are welded on). maybe it's cheaper than buying the entire part.
