ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    F22B DOHC Non VTEC

Opinions? Thinking about a turbo set up. I'm looking to build the motor somewhat. Looking for about 300-350hp. My f22a1 has 203xxx soo dsm turbo is kindaaaa sketchy haha. I'm not really loaded right now so I'm looking for best bang for the buck if you will.

if you're planning on turboing more than say 7lbs or so, you should probably look into rebuilding your bottom end. if you do, your f22a1 will be a better platform to work on.

how many miles on the other engine?

If you are looking to do a build, why waste the money on anoher motor? Build the F22A you have now, and you'll avoid spending $800 for a new motor. $800 will cover a good portion of a budget rebuild.

well the thing is that the accord is my daily driver. and with the motor out of it being built I have no car. but i can get to school by other means so that's not too big of a deal i guess. So I could probably get everything, then take the motor out and build it and be without a car for minimal time.
That is the only advantage to having another motor. I could get an f22 with a bad crank for free. bore it and build that?

Just get another high mileage f22 (A6) so you have all the xtras. Rebuild so it can handle the boost because you are gonna keep raising the PSI because. Just do it right the first time. I dont have turbo experience but I also dont like doing things twice and so on...

Eh, for boost, the A6 extras aren't a big deal. Any F22A is fine. Especially if it's being built.

But yeah, if you're on a budget, buying an $800 engine to build isn't going to help very much. That $800 could easily go towards forged internals, which would be one of the biggest expenses in building an engine. If it's just going to be fairly mild, the stock sleeves will hold up just fine. No need to spend a grand on a resleeve.

That would be how I would do it. A junkyard F22A can be found quite cheap. That, or one that someone swapped out because it stopped running, or they wanted to install something else. I sold my F22A when I did my H22A swap for $50. Transmission included. That was back in 2003.

Yeah, I see a f22 because someone is swapping out for an h22 on craigslist ocasionally.

IDK if you have a pull-a-part near where you live but i know you can grab 4 cylinder engines from them for around $100. thats not too bad and would leave plenty of cash for you to build it. im looking to build and boost a motor when im done with school (after next summer) and im undecided on if i wanna do an f22 or an h22, my car has the h22 in it but idk if i wanna buy another h22 to build it or not.
