ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    91 EX - Won't Start...

    Here's the vital stats:

    - All accessories work, headlights work, radio, etc. work.
    - I turn the ignition and the car turns over.
    - The starter sounds strong with no lag.
    - Battery is one year old - seems strong.
    - Recent new alternator.
    - Engine replaced one year ago with rebuilt engine (had ~ 35,000 miles on it, now has maybe 50,000 miles).
    - Fluids all look good.
    - Full tank of gas.
    - No blown fuses.
    - All connections, wires, etc. under hood look good and intact.

My car was running fine up until yesterday morning. Then suddenly it wouldn't start. I vaguely recall that the day or two prior to this, the engine was a little slower to start, but I don't remember it being significant or anything to worry about. And I've driven used cars forever, so I tune into those sorts of things.

One other note. The day before this happened, I wired a flashing LED - positive end into the hazard switch and negative end into the cruise control fuse in the drivers side kick panel fuse box. I did this to act like a fake alarm - wiring it like this so that it would turn on only when the car was off. Just after hooking this up, I started and drove the car - no problem. The next day I did not drive the car and the blinking light flashed all day and that night. A blinking 3v light, though, shouldn't drain the battery, and the battery isn't even the issue as I explained above. I have since disconnected this LED and, as I said, all accessories work fine. I'm not sure this has anything to do with the car not starting. Maybe it's just a coincidence.

    Please help! Any advice appreciated!

did you check for fuel or for spark?
also listen for your fuel pump to whirl when you first turn the key to on position

I'm not sure how to check for spark by myself. I don't have a spotter at the moment. As spark is what I think it might be, I'm thinking of just changing the plugs, though. Even though they are only about 1 year old.

And when you say, "check for fuel" do you mean to listen for the sound of the fuel pump when I first turn the key on? I'll check this.

      Thanks!
