ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    H22A build issues

Wuz good everyone, I just needed some guided direction and help for my H22 build in my 90 cb7. I have been reading and reading all of the posts and threads to see all the things I need to do for the swap. I've come to the conclusion that I probaly will not get it up and running until after taxes, due to school and the holiday season. But my question is I have a auto trans, I want to swap it out to a manual, which trans would work best with it?? Where could I find one at? And can anyone in the northern va area or richmond, va help me do this whole swap for a reasonable price? Thanks

As for a trans, any f or h trans will work, with the exception of the f series trans from the S2000

O ok would you recommend the trans from the cb7 or the h22 trans?? Im not doing any serious mods but prolli headers, exhaust and intake. Its going to be a daily driver.

The gears in the f22 transmission are longer than the gears of the h22 and h23 transmission. There are threads on here that have the gear ratios. If you want a little more performance, I'd go with the h22 or h23 trans, if you want fuel economy, I'd go with the f22 transmission.

No problem. There is a ton of info on this site for doing a motor swap. I found the info on here to be way more useful than what I found in either the Hayne's or Chilton manuals

Yea I see I read into it deeply before I did it but really didn't take into the account of how time consuming and tedious it is. Plus nobody really around my way has cb7's it mostly civics and stuff and a I'm a full time college student. But the site does help I basically know what parts I need to replace and everything from here. I jus was in limbo as far as what trans would be best suited for me.

I hear ya. There aren't many modded cb's around me either. It's all Civics, Integras and other stuff.

It really all depends on what kind of driving you do, you do a lot of highway driving, I'd suggest an f trans, if not, I'd go with the h trans.

O ok word..it probably be more highway driving than anything else. I commute now and I just don't see it really slowing down in the near future lol

im with nine on this one since you are going to commute use an f trans. now later on if you decide to boost or make alot of power i would say h22 lsd tranny but those are expensive.

That all depends on how much work you can do yourself. I think the hardest part may be welding in the transmission mount. Other than that, I think it's basically bolt on. Don't quote me on that though, I haven't looked at the auto to 5 speed swap thread, since my car was a 5 speed when I got it.
