ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

how can i lower my seats?

this might not be the right place to post this thread but i couldn't find a better section to post this question so i hope someone can help me out on this one......I have notice that my stock cb7 front seats sit a little higher than my da9 and del sol so i was wondering if there was any way i could lower my front seats without buying after market seats.....i was thinking about buying after market seat rails but i wasn't sure if they would fit or even lower my stock front seats, so if anyone can help me out on this one that would be great.

It's been quite a while since I removed my seats, so I can't picture exactly how things are set up...

Modifying or replacing the rails would be the only way, if it's at all possible. The best thing to do would be to remove your seats and inspect the rails to see if anything can be changed. If you DO modify the rails, be sure the welds are secure. If that breaks in an accident, you'll go through the windshield.

Just remember that changing the mounting position of the seat could significantly decrease the effectiveness of your seat belt, and possibly your air bag if your car has one. It could even make those things dangerous.

yeah deevergote you might be right they where design like that for a reason, so to the op do this at your own risk... me and my brother did this to his 68 camaro but we also intalled a 4 point harness and welded metal plates and the car dint come with airbags

Unfortunately the better (most safe) thing to do would be to buy racing seats. You could also try seats from a different honda/acura from the junk yard. The brackets may be different but might also be interchangeable. Youd have to take some measurements and hit the junk yards. All depends on how bad you wanna do this and how much effort your willing to put into it. Good luck.

Yeah, any restraint system would need to be designed for use with a seat at that height.

OP, I'm not intentionally trying to talk you out of it... I just don't want to see anyone doing something that could result in them getting hurt or killed.

yea you are right on this one, but i guess i will hit the junk yard and do some test on other cars to see what kind of results.....the real purpose for this mod is because i am having a hard time doing my heel and toe with these higher seats....i know its a stupid reason to lower my seats but little things like this bothers me.

Aside from altering or replacing the seat, try working with different seat positions... and simply practice.

I can heel-toe in my Fit wearing boots. It took practice, but I pretty much mastered it. Talk about a tall, non-sporty seat... that makes the CB7 feel like a Miata.

I've wondered this as well. It seems the seats in the wife's Accord sit lower than mine, same year, different trim level, though, not sure if that has anything to do with it? Mine is an LX, hers is an EX.

I don't think there are any differences in the seats from year to year or model to model. Not in terms of height, anyway.

Go outside and measure. That's the only way to find out for sure! Maybe there's something more to learn here!

racing seats would be your safest option rather then trying to cut up and reweld the original brackets. another option tho might be to swap the seats out for a set of prelude seats. the brackets allow them to sit slightly lower but the major difference is the padding in the bottom of the seat. its not as thick as stock cb seats but they are still great seats. mine even has the lumbar support which is great for long rides
