ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    emission problem?

hey...i recently just swapped an semi built f22 into my ej1 and took it to e-check last week and it failed...but not as bad i thought it would, the thing is i have a stage 2 bisi cam so what i did was lower the fuel pressure with my regulator down to 35 psi and the NO2 was a lil high, so would lowering the fuel pressure make the engine burn too hot?

(edit): the top is built with the stage 2 cam, bisi springs, 3 way valve job h23 intake manny, and an adjustable FPR.

Im going to say yes, because you may cause it to run lean... which we all know can lead to overheating

thats what i was thinking...but then again i dont want it running too rich either and have it fail cuz of that...so i think ima just put the stock FPR back on and try taking it again.

Check your timing to make sure it is within spec. When was the last time you did a tune up?

I would imagine a good tune was in order after the top end build?

that and a/f readings...make sure the egr ports are clean because that will ultimately fail a f22.

Did all CBs have EGR? I thought only automatics had EGR valves....no?

i have a chipped p06 tuned for this setup...the cat is a new universal one and the 02 sensor is the same one that i took out of my cb before i traded it...did a tune up as soon as the motor was swapped....like two weeks ago.
the egr was deleted with the swap aswell...just checked timing and was off by two teeth.

you deleted your egr and you are wondering why you got NOx numbers...Hopefully you will pass it, its hard for a aftermarket cat to kill nox because they suck, especially with no help from an egr system (cars that DO run egr)

Retard your timming only by a degree or 2. Retard to much then co and hc will go up, unless your in a good limit.

                      Denatured alcahol may help to.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

i actually just found the report and from what it shows i didnt fail by that much, the reading was 1287.3 and the limit for the ej1 is 1123.0 so im hoping the after i try the alcohol and messing with the timing it should pass

                            update

just got back from e-check and it passed! all it needed was the factory FPR and 2 bottles of 91% rubbing alcohol.
