ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Car stalled, wont start!

Ok, so here is what happened. My cb over heated yesterday, and the coolant bypass line busted, replaced the thermostat and bypass line. Car started just fine, I left it running to make sure it had no leaks at normal temps. The car randomly shut itself off. It started right back up, started driving home and the car shut itself off about a 1/4 mile after I started driving and has not started since. The motor cranks, the CEL does not come on at all when ignition is turned, no sound from fuel pump. There is also a click sound down by the relay and a double click coming from the shifter(auto). Ive been doing my research and it sounds like the main relay, but it also sounds like the igniter or coil. Only other thing I can think of is maybe coolant got on something electrical and shorted something. Any input would be great, trying to move in the right direction here. Also it's hard for me to figure out whats wrong because my car is 30 or so miles away at a friends house

No fuel pump definitely suggests main relay. Try that and see if it fixes the problem.

Yeah that was my next step, I went to the junkyard today and grabbed a couple coils and igniters. Going back tomorrow to get a couple relays. Would be nice if it was just the relay lol

Definitely. That's how I do things... get a few junkyard parts and see which combination works.

Update, picked up some new main relays, and headed out to fix my problem. Before I got started went ahead and checked all my grounds. Turns out my buddy forgot to tighten the ground where the thermostat is lol! So that was it... well at least I have a bunch of preventive parts
