ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    cel code help

so i diagnose my cel and i got a code 41 which is my o2 sensor and a 43 which is my fuel supply system and is it my fuel pump that needs to be replace or fuel pump, injectors, or what.....i need to know what part of my fuel system needs to be replace.....my car has 291058 original mile.....engine and everything is original.....any input would be great

Start with the O2 sensor........ there is a slight chance that it will solve both codes. Unfortunately 43 is a little generic. It can relate to one or more of several different components in the fuel system. Get the O2 out of the way first then go from there.

Code 43 usually ends up being thrown because of the o2 sensor as well. I have yet to see a code 43 case that was actually related to the fuel supply system itself.

Replace that o2 sensor with a brand new Denso or NTK unit ONLY. Do not use a Bosch sensor (and that's what most autoparts stores will sell you.) Get the right one for your car (EX/SE models have different sensor locations than LX/DX models.) Don't splice the wires. You run the risk of altering the resistance by doing so, which will result in improper readings being sent to the ECU.

by the way can the o2 sensor cause the car to lose power...what i mean is by having the car sitting in the drive way and just stepping on the gas until 2k rpm and then out of no where the car starts to lose power the rpm starts to drop and then i would have to give it more gas for the car to act normal again....this also happens when i drive under 2k rpm too....(car nevers dies though)...can the o2 sensor also do this

Yes, it can (though under 2k really isn't in the engine's powerband anyway.)

Other things can do that as well, such as failing ignition components... but the o2 sensor can do that as well. I've experienced it, as well as a code 43.

Tell me, does the CEL stay off until you hit highway speeds? That's when mine comes on, around 55mph.

well i really dont have to go fast for the engine to lose power i just have to be under 2k rpm and my check engine light doesnt even turn on while this power lost is happening, the light will just turn on later on during the drive

Well, like I said... under 2k isn't really in the engine's powerband. This isn't a V6 or V8... normal operating range should be between 2k and 3k.

Still, chaneg that o2 sensor. I'm quite certain that will fix your problems. Just be sure to get the right one. No Bosch, and no sensors made for a different model.
