ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

We have an entire section dedicated to forced induction. Your question could be answered very easily by browsing that section, and searching for turbo information in this Beginner Performance section... because guess what... EVERY noob asks "how much boost can I run on stock internals?"... because it seems EVERY noob is cheap and/or lazy these days.

10psi is about the maximum you want to run on stock internals, and I wouldn't expect it to last very long... even rebuilt, boosted with properly sized components, and tuned carefully. The most I've seen is a couple years, built nearly perfectly and driven conservatively, before a ringland broke.

You can't just "slap on" a turbo kit. You need the right components. You NEED TO TUNE THE ECU. That is quite possibly the most important part... and the most difficult to get right.

Well at least he appropriately titled his thread....lol.

Honestly kid, you've got a lot to learn. And just when you think you know it all, somebody comes along and rocks your world; like someone did to me last week with my manifold choice on my H22, which forced me to look at a different turbo which also forces me to reconsider a different wastegate. That's gonna cost me like $800 I didn't budget for. Do TONS of research, until the point it makes you sick. When you can't sleep at night....do Research....when you've finished your chores...do Research....when you're filling up for gas.....do Research....when your girlfriend stops talking to you....do Research....and when the deeverman tells you to....DO RESEARCH!!!!

My best advice is go into threads where the real turbo guys are discussing things, it contains the most relevant information. And if you feel you should, ask a specific question or make a very informed statement. It shouldn't contain the words "sorry but I'm a noob either" they'll know anyway....

Since you have a few friends that have gone turbo, I would suggest NOT leaning on them ciompletely. Learn what you need to know on your own. Learn it, understand it, and compare what you know to what they say... you'll probably see lots of things that they're doing wrong!

I suggest reading two books to start: Honda/Acura Engine Performance by Mike Kojima, and Maximum Boost by Corky Bell. Those books will get you started.

You will need alot more then to just buy a turbo kit and "slap" it on there. You will need a tuneable ECU, get a p06 chipped. You will need bigger injectors,450cc dsm should be fine for your 10psi goal. Then once you get all the and the turbo kit installed find a reputable tuner in your area and get it tuned. Do some more research and you will begin to understand what is all involved in the process.
