ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    h22a mount hell !!!!

i bought a 92 accord ex that had a hacked up jdm h22a swap in it. he converted it from auto to manual. the passenger tranny mount was welded in. the rear mount looks like the original auto one. my problem is that the engine doesnt naturally tilt back like all other h22s ive seen. it seems like the rear is siting too high. my axles bind bad when the wheels are turned to the right at all.
with the suspension loaded, if u look down at the axles it looks like the tranny is too far back. it looks like i could rotate the engine down in the back to correct it. im thinking i may just cut the t bracket and re weld it. would a base model 5 speed rear mount correct this problem?

The 5 speed rear mound should work... but I'm curious to know just how hacked up the tranny mount area is... that's what would cause the most problems.

Did he weld in the mount, or did he weld in the 5 speed mount bracket (that's what's supposed to be done.)

If you can get pictures of how it's installed, people could probably help much better.
It's such a pain in the ass to take on someone else's project! You have to figure out what they did wrong, then figure out how to correct it...

Minus the tranny mount being possibly off, I am wondering if there is a mix up between the 2 diff. rear mount brackets- tall and short. Maybe factory auto rear mount (tall) w/ the DX/LX/Prelude manual rear mount bracket (short). Not sure if that mix up is possible, just throwing that out there.

Shoot for the DX/LX 5 spd rear mount and matching low/short bracket, all the other CB r. mounts are terrible. I think you're on the right track, by what you've posted so far. You may already have the correct r. bracket, just the wrong mount.

it had 94 prelude axles that i already changed. they were too long. the rear mount has a vacume line and solenoid connected to it. didn't that only come on the autos?

Yeah, the manual mounts were just plain mounts, like the others.

i think i'm gonna order the dx rear mount, fill it, and then if i have to weld up a t bracket. there are no accords or preludes in junk yards here to get parts from

it will really be a decent car when i get this straightened out. 98k original miles. 52k on engine and tranny. its painted tangelo pearl, carbon fiber hood " needs re cleared" i pulled the altezzas, scraped off the 2 percent tint.

If you have the auto mount and the manual bracket on the rear, it will sit high. I used the bracket off of the F22 with the auto mount and it fit. Then I got the ESP mount and DX/LX manual bracket. Motor still sits as it should.
