ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    valve cover studs

I need some assistance with a broken valve cover stud. It's the top part that is broken off. Wasn't me who did it, the car came like this. Here's what I'm lookin at.

I've tried autozone, napa, advance, federated, all over the internet. all if find is bolts that don't look like they're long enough or wing studs. I want to torque it to spec so i'm not getting wingstuds. Anyone have any clue besides the junk yard? Or what i need to do if it's a bolt fix like ever part seller has?

Edit: Changed to a better pic, comparing the two front studs I'm talking about. & yes I've searched the forums as well as other forums and google.

when mine snapped i had to go to the honda dealer. Kinda steep prices and had to wait a couple days to get it. I'd head to the junk yard

problem is, no honda dealer anywhere I know of closeby. same thing with a junkyard. I'm walking everywhere till I get the CB on the road. Not many people I can ask for a ride either. i basically lost all touch with everyone due to circumstances involving my ex-fiance. Also no family out here, they all moved.

Hrmph..... Oh well, I guess I have to try calling around then finding someone who's friendly. I don't understand why they don't just sell them like every other part. I just replaced all the seals but I'm not torquing the valve assembly down til i get that stud replaced, then I'm doing a valve adjustment, replacing the cover, putting in my new plugs... yadda yadda... Got a ways to go before I'm on the road myself. :/

I really don't want to put it back together only to have to take it back apart for one stud. Thanks anyways brother.

I paid about $17 for the stud and the nut after my dad broke it off. Luckily, the dealer had it in stock.
