ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    New shoes, No E-Brake......

    Hi all,

I recently replaced the rear brakes, and all springs and retainers, on my
    1990 Accord LX Sedan.

Ever since, I have no Emergency Brake. I removed the cover, and tried
to adjust, and noticed that when I apply the brake the driver side works
great... Tight after about 5th click. But the passenger side is totally loose.

I have removed the drums again, and applied the brake. Both LOOK like
they are working. Both pull the shoes where they should, however with the
drums on, only the driver side actually holds the drum. The passenger side I can rotate by hand.

I am stumped, and any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

    Mike

emergency brake cable could be stretched an in need of replacing. Other than that only other thing i would check is the springs might be wore. If it where me id replace the rear to a rotor brake system. Much easier to work on.

Easier, but does he want to keep the vehicle for a long time. And whats the condition?

Anyways. It sounds like you have a seized up brake cable which is fairly common on our cars.

When you pop up the Ebrake cable, does the balancer pull only one cable? (right where you ajusted the Ebrake)

Chances are, if only one cable is pulling, you have a seized up line. Can you use it like this? Sure why not. Is it completely safe? No. I would suggest replacing the line whenever you got the chance if this is infact the case.

      Edit: Welcome to the site!

Thats would have been second guess but he said that when drums are off they move ok which led to my answer of slack in cable due to streching. Ur proly right though.
