ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Absolutely not. Those things are worthless gimmicks.Originally posted by BlackGuy'sHonda View Postnow does adding a air intake fuel gas saver fan inside help any better?
Never believe claims from any bolt-on gas saver, any $200 "electric supercharger", or any product in a bottle that claims it will repair a damaged engine.

i have seem first hand a .16 difference in a 1/8 mile by adding a spiral max .it was added on a 87 trans am . i swear he gained it on his car . it was slow as shit but he added it at the track in front of me and some friends and we shut up .
IDK seemed to work for him. maybe only works on low power cars

A man that keeps looking back can't see whats in front of him.

so the best thing is just to change your stock air intake right?Originally posted by deevergote View PostAbsolutely not. Those things are worthless gimmicks.

last question. is getting the longer pipe better or is the shorter one?

The length of the pipe doesn't matter all that much. If you get a cold air intake, which is the long pipe into the fenderwell, you'll have to enlarge the hole. I did that when I was brand new to this stuff (and paid $200 for an AEM intake, even...) and I REALLY regret it, since I now have a rusty hole in my car. The quality filter is more important than the length of the pipe.
Puttin an intake on could actually decrease your gas mileage. It brings more/denser air into the engine, which has more oxygent. The ECU sees that increased oxygen content via the o2 sensor, and sends more fuel to compensate.

The filter is the most important aspect, do not skimp on that. Only go with quality K/N or AEM. (AEM filters are made by K/N I believe) But yes the pipe is a pipe but there are a few exceptions, those exceptions will make only small differences. Such as:
1) Material of the pipe
a) Will the pipe get hot after racing for 30 minutes?
b) Is the pipe 2 pounds or 15 pounds?
2) Shaping of the pipe
a) Some manufacturers claim certain bends are better than others which can be true but it's going to be a VERY small difference in power if any
3) Quality of the pipe
a) Is there random welds that could hold back air?
4) Legality
a) If you don't want cops messing with you or you live in California you'll in a CARB certified intake, but that's way more expensive.Current:
