ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Idle question

ok i have a 90 shell with a 92 A-6 swapped. The engine came out of my previous 90 cb, and ran perfect. I did the swap about a month ago and has been running good since today. my girl pulled in the driveway and its revving up and down from like 550 to like 1050, with it almost stalling when it drops. Ive had a idle problem before and found out it was the little white plastic screw that needed to be tightened down and for almost 2 years has never acted funny. i have no check engine light and the car idles fine when cold. Any ideas??

really could be a lot of things causing that. i'd check the idle air control valve, the fast idle valve, and see if the egr valve is sticking. it could also be low coolant level or a vacuum leak. later.

Im goin to check to coolant level first, since im getting ready to step out the door for work. Im pretty sure every vaccume line is hooked up, but never hurts to double check. It has real hot heat and the high cooling fan doesn't kick on when the engine is cut off. Ill keep yall posted.

So i checked the coolant level last night before work and just as i thought, it was full. (I checked it with a hot engine, making sure the theromostat was open). I also double checked all the vaccume lines and everything is hooked up/blocked off correctly. I drove the car to work last night which was about a 12 min trip in the city and the problem still persisted. After work, I got a little heavy with the gas leaving and then hit the interstate which was a 20-115 pull, (all the way till the governer killed it) with the pedal shoved to the floor board. (Not that i was thinking beating the crap out of a stock engine was a good thing, but had a civic irritating me.) As i pulled in my drive the car wasn't acting weird and was ideing correctly. Today, I took the car on a nice hour and a half trip and again the car is running just fine.

that is definitly one for the honda books.i had a ef hatchback that did that.i call it the honda syndrome bc the cars sounds like it says honda over an over.i had all vacuum hoses connected to, i switched a couple around and it stopped.yours couldve simply been a leak that sealed itself off...

I'm not sure exactly the problem. I do know my girl drives like a blind grandma around town and has been driving the car for about 2 weeks now while a put her cd5 back together after tossing a timing belt at 20 mph. After the engine died she kept grinding on the starter and wind up doing some damage to the head, but anyways. Yea im clueless. I have extra sensors off of the original motor that was in it so if it does it again, Ill be narrowing down the problems.

I also wanted to add that today (after my hour and a half trip) I cut the engine off and the fan kicked on for a minute or two and Im SURE its full of fluid, even in the over flow tank. This is the first time this car has done this. Tonight after the hour and a half return trip, the fan did NOT kick on after i cut it off. The 90 radiator that was in it, I re-used but, I have a 93 radiator, fans, and all wiring to plug and play, layin in my shed. The 90 one has a small red relay on the drivers side (the reason i re-used it) and is this possibly starting to go out? My previous 90 did not have this.
