ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    F22Ax N/A Vs F22Ax Turbo Or FTW H22A

Ok Hey guys it me again and i just wanted to here ya opinions about my build ideas for an Daily Driver which is automatic<Ultimate Sleeper>. So to start it i really want to (Budget)build an all motor F22a1 but im still scared that it wont be enough to kill an h22 or these modern Cars out there with these specs

    Engine Rebuild(New Pistons Seals ect)
    Weapon R Dragon Intake
Custom 2.5" Exhaust with an Tsudo SP2 muffler/ Ex Down Pipe/ Punched out Cat
    H23 Intake Manifold/TB
    Megan Racing Headers
Bismoto Stage 1 Camshaft/ Cam Gear or delta Cams what ever is cheaper and Better
    300ZX Fuel Pump/ SR20DET 450cc Fuel Injectors
Small Shot of laughing Gas just for the hell of it
    Brian Crower Valve Springs
    Prelude P12 ECU
And for some reason I just dont feel like its gonna pack a punch wit these mods VS Turbo Set up Which cost more$$$ but ftw

    Engine Rebuild(New Pistons Seals ect)
Custom 2.5" Exhaust with an Tsudo SP2 muffler/ Ex Down Pipe/ Punched out Cat
    H23 Intake Manifold/TB
    Megan Racing Headers
    Random Ebay Turbo Kit (12PSI)
    300ZX Fuel Pump/ SR20DET 450cc Fuel Injectors
    Brian Crower Valve Springs
    Ebay Boost Controller

And i feel like this wouldnt be worth it for an daily driver cause it will use more gas but it packs a punch!!!!!!!

I would appreciate anyones help Thanks

Weapon R Dragon Intake don't waste your money on a gimmick. just get a cheap pipe and a quality filter.
Custom 2.5" Exhaust with an Tsudo SP2 muffler/ Ex Down Pipe/ Punched out Cat punched out cat... absolutely idiotic. you'll lose power. just run a normal cat.
    H23 Intake Manifold/TB
Megan Racing Headers you won't gain much from one megan racing header, let alone multiple.
Bismoto Stage 1 Camshaft/ Cam Gear or delta Cams what ever is cheaper and Better You obviously haven't put much thought into this... so I'm not going to waste my time here.
300ZX Fuel Pump/ SR20DET 450cc Fuel Injectors why do you need the ability to deliver that much fuel?
Small Shot of laughing Gas just for the hell of it
    Brian Crower Valve Springs
Prelude P12 ECU custom cam, new internals, nitrous, custom fuel injectors... and a stock ECU? that makes sense
And for some reason I just dont feel like its gonna pack a punch wit these mods VS Turbo Set up Which cost more$$$ but ftw
You're right. your mod choices are poorly thought out. follow HondaFan81's "white" build thread for the proper way to build an N/A F22A. Do it right, and you'll be making 250whp or more.

    Engine Rebuild(New Pistons Seals ect)
Custom 2.5" Exhaust with an Tsudo SP2 muffler/ Ex Down Pipe/ Punched out Cat see above comment regarding the cat.
    H23 Intake Manifold/TB
Megan Racing Headers where are these going to go? in the trunk?
    Random Ebay Turbo Kit (12PSI)
    300ZX Fuel Pump/ SR20DET 450cc Fuel Injectors
    Brian Crower Valve Springs why?
    Ebay Boost Controller why?
what do you plan to do for engine management?

And i feel like this wouldnt be worth it for an daily driver cause it will use more gas but it packs a punch!!!!!!!

I would appreciate anyones help Thanks

IMO I would turbo it. Rebuild the engine, 2.5" tbe(turbo back exhaust), all the supporting mods, minor IM porting, and turbo manifold porting, good tune on say 10lbs should yield ~250whp. Turn the boost up to 12-14 on the weekends and terrorize the streets.

As far as gas mileage in it when its boosted should go down just a bit due to more fuel being used, but if you tune it good you should be able to even it out and loose a little if any at all. Also if you can keep your foot out of it you shouldn't have much of a loss haha

I LOVE the sound of turbo'd vehicles. I also love the responsiveness of n/a powered vehicles. With a small enough turbo and good tune, you can still maintain the responsiveness of an n/a car. But in the end, it all depends on what YOU want to do with YOUR car, your budget, and most importantly what makes you happy.

I hope this was helpful. Good luck

      Burt

EDIT: read through the n/a and turbo sections of the forum and determine what power gains you are looking for. Do a little research and you'll have a better idea of which route you want to go.

you clearly have not done much research. you have parts listed that you dont need, and parts you definatly do need are not on your list.

Oh, and SR20 injectors are sidefeed and wont work on a honda engine. But i assume you knew that already.

As posted above, please go to the turbo and n/a technical sections of this forum and do a few hours of reading. It will save you time and money in the long run.

deevergote said it all man.... you're mix matching a bunch of random shit. It comes down to what do you want to spend. N/A is very expensive, Turbo is pretty expensive, but w/ looking at your original post I'd say you don't want to spend much (random eBay turbo, Weapon R, Megan Header(s?)) don't waste your money on junk, w/ the cat idea it sounds like you're hanging out with some old-timers.

You need to do some research and pick a direction - a f22 n/a or turbo is a world apart from a h22 n/a or turbo (like $3k)... then the forum could help you, I've said it a few times - go test drive a turbo'd car and then make your plans.

If its a DD go N/A

Personally I would stick with the F22A
            11:1 pistons, H23 IM, A6 cam, PT6 ECU, 2.5" exhaust, H23 trans, should be a rocket

11:1 pistons will give the PT6 fits, I'm quite sure... Once you modify the internals, cam, or head casting, a chipped and properly tuned ECU really should be run.

That setup is actually half nonsense itself.

Do your research. Don't just list parts you hear other idiots talking about on the internet. Determine what your goals are in terms of power production, reliability, drive-ability, efficiency, cost, and your intended use. Then determine how much of it you can do yourself with your current facilities, tools, and knowledge, and how much of it you will need to pay someone else to do.

Otherwise, threads like this are just wasting our time, and making you look like an idiot. I don't mean that disrespectfully... but when you make a thread asking what is better, and list a bunch of bullshit parts... you're insulting everyone that you are asking for help. I GUARANTEE you that I put more thought and effort into this one response than you did in your first post. That's not how it works. We'll gladly help you, but we're not going to do your thinking for you.

IMHO if you're going to stay automatic; which is not an "Ultimate Sleeper", more like a "Slushie", your only option is an H22A swap. Sure you can add a header, intake, exhaust, throttle body, and manifold to the F22A; but the buck stops there. You'd still get outrun by a lot of cars on the road today. You're not going to be able to tune an automatic. Very few brands offer the technology and even fewer shops would be willing to mess with it. The money you would spend on tuning the auto trans would probably be worth a 5spd swap itself on the low end. The H22 while in automatic form would give you more of a fighting chance.

as was said before, it comes down to what you want to do, how much you can and are willing to spend and how much time your willing to put into it. A dd with a turbo is possible but not overly economical due to more wear on the engine. From the looks of the list, you've probably hung around import tuner or some other japcar mag and heard a bunch of names, but when you looked into those parts you decided some were better bought as cheap eBay alternatives.
The first thing to consider with these parts is fitment, you can buy an eBay part for cheap but there is a good chance it won't fit on your car, if it fits then you have to worry about it working right, if it works right then it still might not last as long.
You have to be able to commit a lot of time and money to a build if you want a fast dd. Invest in building the rotating assembly and head then start to think about a turbo. The turbo will look and perform nice up until you start to blow gaskets and bend connecting rods.
Being normal is probably the lamest thing you can try to be

Didn't realize it was auto, auto H22 is your only option, they damn near give the trannys away, just make sure to get a TCU along with the ECU
