ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Open up the solenoid and try to clean it first before replacing it

edit: i read what code 7 is " 7-Shift Solenoid 'A' circuit open or shorted. "

I would check over the wiring i gusse. Did you buy the car with this problem? Maybe someone was messing with somthing and never plugged it back in

I bought it 3months ago with no dash light but the tranny was slipping on uphills on 3500rpms... but after 2months i was driving it.. d4light started to flash...
and yea it says that code 7 is is circuit open or shorted but I have no clue about that.. coz i saw that the little connector that connects to the selenoid is connected to a harness....

It just means that the TCU is seeing something wrong with the circuit for Shift Solenoid A. All the TCU really sees is a change in voltage, so it doesn't know what the specific problem is (it's like when you have a cough... it could be a cold, bronchitis, strep throat... the cough just tells you the general area of the trouble!)

Check the wiring to make sure it's good. Check the plug to make sure that it's secure, and no dirt has gotten in to foul the connections. Open up the solenoid and look for anything that's clearly damaged (I have no experience with this, so I'm really just following Tippey's lead on this one...)
If all looks good and you still get the code, replace the solenoid. Reset the TCU (remove the cables from your battery for about an hour.) If you still get the code after a new solenoid, look into replacing the TCU. They're fairly cheap at junkyards, but you have to be sure to get one from a 92-93 model (I'm not sure if the trim matters, but I would get one from an LX or DX if you have one of those, or an EX or SE if you have one of those. If there's a difference, that's where it would be.) Just be aware... a used TCU is no newer than the one that you have now, so it may also be bad. It happens.
