ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Checked CEL and this happened. Some help please

The check engine light stays on! What does this mean? I cant seem to find any information on it.

At first I thought maybe I didnt plug it in right. But it gave me my TCU code so I know it is working.

So what does it mean when it stays on and doesn't flash at all!?
You don't have to like what he did, but I would hope that you can appreciate the time, money and love that went in to the build. If you can't, you're not really an enthusiast, just another dumb kid with a car.-visualpoet

There's a thread from last week on that site that has the same information... from me. (hondahookup.com is where I got my start. Once I found this site, I used to go there to flame the morons, so I wouldn't do it here... but I ended up helping all the CB guys, and they made me a mod... )

Anyway, a solid CEL usually means a bad ECU. If it's sporadic, then you could have a slightly damaged wire, or a slightly damaged solder joint in the ECU itself.
I've had a solid CEL once... but it only happened briefly (the no-start culprit at that time was my ignitor or coil... I replaced both... neither had anything to do with he CEL, however.) I've never had that issue again.

Just in case it IS the CEL going out, be on the lookout for a cheap replacement ECU. They're easy enough to find, and you can probably snag one for $20 or so.

My car wouldnt start up if my computer was short would it? Because my car starts but it runs like crap for a little than finally runs normal. And it drives normal too.

Just throwing this out there since it wasn't mentioned...but if you don't have a stored "cel code" and you jump the 2 wire plug under the glove box, the light will stay on solid. Every time I jump that wire when adjusting the timing, that light comes on solid until I remove the jumper. This is in my 90 EXR (both when it was the stock f22a4/ecu and f22a6/ecu).
