ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Foglight security

I recently just purchased 90-91 fogs and before
I put them in I wanted to know is there any ways to
Really "secure" them into your bumper so THIEVES can't
Just unscrew the brackets and take your stuff ?

Thieves can't unscrew the brackets without removing the bumper....or some serious work.

        Really ? I had a 98 maxima ( totally different I know )
And they stole my fogs within seconds and
All that plastic that covers the bottom of your block
( splash guard? ) was all in place.

Well I know you have to take the bumper off to get the damn things on lol. And I've tried to pull em out sweating my ass off one day just to change a bulb easy to no avail. Lol. I mean, even with it jacked up coming from underneath without the splash guard in the way it would be pretty difficult. The screws mount the bracket to the bumper from behind, and there isn't really any room behind them even when bending the bumper out.

There IS supposed to be a screw like in the bumper lights to remove just the housing from the bracket, but both sets I've owned were so rusted at that screw there would be no way they could take em. Lol

Yeah that sounds pretty convincing. I swear if my fogs
Get stolen I'll be in prison Lol.

You could always tear the bumper cover off the rebar. I found my fogs in the winter at the JY and the nuts on the engine bay side of the bumper had been stripped. I was not leaving without them so we ended up tearing the cover and breaking it where each clip connected.

Theres really no way to protect that though.

Seriously though, theyre fog lights on a 20 year old family car. Unless your on this forum you wouldn't even know they were worth anything.

Why can't people just be honest? I've had a spoiler stolen off one of my vehicles before, but fog lights just seem like a hassle to steal.

^ I agree but like I stated previously I had a 98 maxima and my fogs got stolen so that's why I made this post. You would think the newer the car the more "security" it has but that most certainly isn't the truth. So I was just curious as to what options I had in securing my fogs with more then just four nuts. It just depends on the manufacturer pretty much.

It's more of a when im sleeping type thing and I'm sure everyone can relate to this at some point in their lives that the nicer your ride the more you worry when it's parked and you're not in it.

                        Yeah.

Nobody is going to steal your OEM foglights. They aren't like a stereo or a universal part that can be used in other vehicles.

If they're installed properly, with the original brackets and the 8-10 or so mounting screws, they aren't going anywhere. Well, they won't be going anywhere fast, at least. Meaning it'll be an incredible hassle to remove them quickly and with little effort, which is what petty thieves look for. Quick and easy.
                        My pictures/photos will return soon...

I live in st.louis right by the arch. And I came out one day and my fogs off my 92 were stolen. Along with pretty much the whole bumper. Surprised the didn't take my hood while they were at it.

It would be quicker and easier to just steal the whole damn car.

yeah someone tryed to steal jabercb7s foglights but his alarm went off and scard them off..but he went out side the next day to leave and his bumper was all messed up and the fog was out of place but not dissconnected from the car as he put them in right...theres a bracket that bolts to the bumper support to the fog itself as long as u have that connected ur thief should have one hell of a problem..
