ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Why the car is doing this. I even cleaned the iacv and ficv. And hoses still no change. I thing my timing screwed up. But the car was sitting still when the problem started.
Yeah mind does the same exact thing. Since that happened I've had to advance my spark timing because wouldnt want to start so I'm guessing something happened to my cam timing, or my valves. I'm gonna swap my FITV soon, but I doubt its going to help. I'm also going to compression test it soon. My bet is on bent valves.

My first thought is that your idle screw is improperly set not allowing enough air to be combusted.
The IACV could have some to do with this, but every honda i had i deleted this and never had any type of idle issue. (that is not to say your engine could do the same)
Little things i would check first.

      plugs, are they clean?
throttle cable is it properly adjusted?
idle screw is it allowing the correct amount of air to enter? this is important for driving and letting off the throttle as well as you don't want your car to fall on it's face everytime you let off the gas.
      verify correct fuel pressure.
      clean iacv and reinstall.
remove egr valve and see if it's stopped up.
      WERD!

ok, well I checked out that thread and have a couple of questions. I'm still learning so these might be simple questions but bear with me.
So where can I find the IACV in order to unplug it?
A the fuse I'm supposed to unplug for 10 seconds is marked?

Your iacv is directly on the front of your IM, just unplug it while the car is running. If it surges it's working.

To reset your computer. You can remove the fuse, or just un-hook your battery for an hour.

Have you checked base fuel pressure?

          Is your air filter clean?

Do you have any CEL lights on?

Have you advanced your distributer just a hair? If you believe it's your timing, get a light and check to see what it's set at.

          whats your setup?

Do the things in the order I have given last post and this one, and report back with accurate results.

setup as in what i got in my cb?
i have f22a, just a simple intake. got some subs in the trunk so i think thats why the idle is kinda low and not steady. it actually sits right at 800 which is what a few people said it should be at, but i thought it might be better to set it a lil higher because of the subs. I do have a capacitor so i dont drain the battery too much, but still notice a slight drop in rpm's when im sitting at a light and the bass hits

i will check the other things tho just to make sure things are running good

Got around to messing with the cb again. To fix my crazy low idle and idle surge I just tightened my throttle cable. Revs a bit high but runs a bit better. Still that's. Just masking the real problem.

wait............ I never read where you said it surges. Until now.

If it's suging, your IACV is bad , or you have a IM gasket leak, like I previously mentioned.

Surging is where the idle will go from 500 rpms up to 2000 rpms over and over without you touching the gas.
Most the time it won't trigger the cel.
